Birds & Brews
Date: Thursday, May 8, 2025
Leaders: Alan Drogan, Gillian Henry, Amanda Bielskas
Transportation: Accessible by Public Transportation. Our starting point is across the street from the 103rd Street B/C Subway Station.
Meeting Point: Our meeting location is just inside the park at 103rd Street Street and Central Park West.
Schedule: The walk starts at 5:30 pm and if the weather and birds cooperate, will likely go until sunset.
Relative Difficulty: Expect to walk about two miles on (mostly) paved paths, with some moderate inclines.
Trip Description: This walk series is aimed at the after-work crowd, but anyone is welcome to join us! Central Park is one of the world’s premier birding spots, and we hope to take advantage of the longer daylight hours during peak migration to look for warblers, vireos, tanagers, and other spring migrants. The walk will start at 5:30 pm and we will search the Pool or North Woods or other Central Park hot spots for migrants before heading to a local bar around sunset for some casual conversations and libations.
Please read The Linnaean Society of New York COVID-19 Field Trip Guidelines before registering.
