Transportation: Carpool Trip – Drivers willing to provide rides are encouraged to attend. The Registrar will work with participants without a vehicle to organize rides and share the suggested carpool fee for the driver. This usually works out, but we can not guarantee a ride unless there are enough enough volunteer drivers.
Meeting Point: After your registration is confirmed, the Registrar will share directions, the exact meeting place, and time with attendees.
Schedule: The trip will end in the early afternoon.
Relative Difficulty: The terrain is flat and makes for easy walking.

Trip Description: The Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge is a 12-square-mile natural oasis of varied habitats and diverse wildlife only 26 miles from New York City, surrounded by the suburbs of Morris County, New Jersey. A haven for nesting heron species, the site ranges from open marshes to woodlands. The refuge is an outstanding area for migrating waterfowl to stop, rest, and feed on their travels. A variety of raptors, including Bald Eagles, can be seen soaring overhead. Not to be outdone, passerines, such as several swallow species, including Purple Martins, can be found within its borders.

Registration: Registration opens at 9 am on Monday, May 19. After that time, click here to register. Registration closes at 6 pm on Wednesday, May 28. Members (and those who have applied for membership) will be prioritized over non-members.
