Sean will present an in-depth look at the wintering home of North America’s Neotropical migrants, giving you insights into the habitat and wildlife they interact with while in their tropical wintering home. He has spent a decade at three sites, two in Costa Rica and one in Panama, and will explore the differences among a coastal mangrove forest, a Pacific lowland forest, and a Caribbean foothill montane rain forest. Along with teaching us more about the habitat our migrants call home, he will also share with us some of the species that call these habitats their home all year long.
A biologist, conservation photographer, and storyteller, Sean’s scientific research specializes in birds, particularly hummingbirds, studying their habitats and migration patterns. When in Costa Rica and Panama, he is conducting research and teaching courses in tropical rain forest field techniques.
